::disney princesses on ice::

Disney Princesses On Ice came to town...

and, of course, we went...

Chloe, Grandma Kitty, & I went. We went last year, and decided we were going to make it our "thing" every year as long as Chloe's into it.

...she wore her Snow White dress...

...got a wand at the gift shop...

we saw...

Sleeping Beauty,

Beauty and the Beast,

Snow White
(her fave right now),

and Cinderella
(the main attraction) to name a few.

...and a few fireworks at the end.

She loved it!!

...and so did Grandma.

Then Grandma took us to lunch...

...can you guess where???

(watching it snow)

We missed the boys. Portie was so sad he couldn't go. He thought he could go and wear his Buzz costume (I don't think he got that it was kind of a girl thing). We told him he and Dadduh could go to Monster Trucks when they come to town, so now he's excited about that :) We brought him home a little Buzz toy.
We had such a great day! She loved it! She thought all the princesses were so beautiful and such good skaters! "How can they skate like that, mom???" Everything was so pretty and sparkly. The ice was even pink and flowery. Girls' days are the best! I'm so glad I have a little girl to go do these kinds of fun things with. I'm glad we went. Glad Grandma Kitty came with us. We hope Grandma Snowman can come with us next year ;)

::our beautiful selves::

We got some family photos done...

...thanks, Amber, you've done it again!!

::Coopie's first haircut::

Yep, we got his hair cut. Even though we LOVED his crazy, outta control 'do, it had to be cut
.

Here's the before...

The during...
(Vicki, Matt's cousin's wife, cut his little baby hair. I took Port for a hair cut a couple of weeks ago to a Super Cuts type of place, and almost got Coop's hair cut then. The girl said she had plenty of time, and she could just clean it up for me, nothing drastic-I guess she could sense my attachment to the craziness of his 'do-, and I even had my camera with me. Then, at the last second I thought "I don't even know this girl, and she's about to cut my baby's hair? No way!! So we called Vicki a couple of weeks later)
He didn't like it. He cried through most of it. We gave him some juice and a cookie, but he cried and kept moving his head to look up at Vicki. Poor Vicki! He's gotta be her toughest client!

The after...

Doesn't he look like a big boy? We love the new 'do, but I really miss the old hair. He looks so much older and not like a baby anymore. I miss the crazy baby hair. I miss seeing his crazy, fluffy 'do every morning. I miss fluffin' up his curls after he gets out of the bath every morning. We miss sayin' "look at dat hai-eh" to him every time it's crazy...

But it had to be done. I guess we have to let him grow up, right?

We'll start with a hair cut....baby steps.

::Matt's old::

Yep, he turned 30! I keep telling him "You're 30!!" The old jokes just never stop around here. BUT...they're SO NOT allowed when I turn 30!
It's funny 'cause the kids say he's old and laugh about being 30, but if Matt says anything about me being old, they're like "NOOOOOO she's not!!" I didn't teach 'em that, I swear!

Matt came home to this...

...then the sign sunk in...

His birthday was on Wednesday (a school night, and he had young mens' with the church), so we couldn't go out and to anything too fun, so we just had a little family party for him...

We made him dinner (pot roast with carrots and potatoes and some rolls-his fave!)

We gave him some cards...

...and a Kobe shirt...

...'cause he likes Kobe (just a little).

...And he had a cake :)
(I was going to get him 30 candles, but I woulda had to buy like a
10 boxes of them to equal 30-haha)
...I guess it probably seems silly to have cakes for grownups' birthdays all the time, but the kids love it. They can't imagine a birthday without a party "what kinda party is he gonna have? "what kinda cake should we get him" (Portie said he thought Dadduh should have a Buzz party) let alone a cake & candles. So we always have cake-pluse we kinda like to eat it too :)

::Papa Guitar::

Papa Guitar came for a visit this last weekend. It was just a quick little visit, but we're glad he came. He stayed at our house for a night, which the kids LOVED...

...we had dinner, watched lots of football on Sunday (along with Billy's family), he came with us to take Chloe to school on Monday morning. She showed him her classroom, her pictures on the wall, her teacher, and was so excited that Papa was here.
They played trains, read stories, wrestled...Portie loved having him here too (as we can see :) ) He was mad when Papa had to leave to go stay at Liam and Tristan's. "I'll go wiss him," he said, and when we told him he can't, he was mad and yelled, "Papa didn't stay at our house for a long time!!"
Coops just kept lookin' at Papa. He wasn't nervous around him or anything-never cried when he picked him up, he just kept staring at him-trying to figure him out, I guess. He loves Papa too :)

But we saw Papa again the next day when he took us all out to dinner at...

...and it was PRETTY good! Nothin' beats good BBQ!

...except for maybe this guy...
...naah he wasn't that awesome, but it was fun to watch 'em play, and the kids loved it! They danced out in front of the stage-I think we oughtta take a tip bucket for them next time :)

We're all so glad you came, Dad.
We love ya & miss ya!
We're excited to see you (and Gayle if you're nice to her-haha) at Christmas :)

::Halloween '09::

(Finally a Halloween post)
We had a great Halloween this year!
We had a...
Buzz,

a Snow White,

and a Super Cooper,

Friday night was the Halloween Carnival with Chloe's school. It was really fun. I have fond memories of going to mine when I was in school (face painting, carnival games, candy, costumes, friends), and the kids were SO excited. We were walking in to a crowded gym to buy some tickets to play some games and I told Matt "welcome to parenthood" cause I know this will be our future for the next several Halloweens, Christmasses and any other little fun thing going on at the kids' school. And he said "It's fun, I love it." :)
There were lots of fun games.
They won lots of fun treats and prizes.
Portie won a coke in the "ghost walk"
holding bubbles in the mad scientist lab

a volcano

And, of couse, some trick-or-treating on Halloween...

We always like to trick-or-treat to friends and family (its a little less about the candy this way-at least for now), and our last stop is always Grandma and Papa Snowman's house where we stay for the rest of the night. A couple of cousins came over too...
Buzz, Super Cooper, Snow White, Ariel, and Lil' Stinker-the skunk aren't they cute?
