::february-the gist::

In February, we did a few fun things.
Valentines was pretty fun.  Matt and I didn't have anything too special planned.  We just stayed home with the kids.  I spent the better part of my day cooking and making treats, decorating for our dinner.  It was pretty fun, the kids liked it.

The 3 school kids had valentines parties at school (Bubb's was a PJ party!!).  We think it's fun to do homemade valentines.  So I got to stay up late putting them together-I guess that's what I get for waiting 'til the last minute.

For dinner, I made roast.  We usually do the heart shaped pizza, but this year, I opted for something different.  I cut our carrots into hearts though, so we wouldn't feel like we missed out on a festive dinner. :]
So we had roast, potatoes, carrots, chocolate covered strawberries, and everybody got their own little box of valentinesy puppy chow (have you ever had that stuff?  It's gooooood!)

Ave's takin' a big ol' bite of her strawberry.  I think she liked it :]

Matt gave me some pretty flowers...

...and I gave him the biggest card I could find.
(I don't know why.  I always see those, and think they look fun)

Also....
Monster Jam happened to be in town that weekend, so we stuck some tickets in the kids' cards.  We don't usually go that big on a gift for them for valentine's day, it just happened to be the same weekend. They were pretty excited.  Especially Bubb.  I showed him what the trucks were going to do with his little toy cars and trucks.

We had to wait 2 whole days, but Saturday finally came, and we went to the show!  It was pretty fun.  The kids loved it-even though it was a little loud.

Also in February, I took Chloe for her first orthodontist appointment.  It was just a consultation, and we actually went to two orthodontists that our dentist recommended to see which one we liked better.  To say Chloe is excited for braces would be a huge understatement!  It was all she could talk about for days before and after her appointment.  And still, in the morning when I fix her hair, she talks about her teeth, how funny it will be to have braces on them, and what colors she will get at what times of the year, etc.

At her first consult, the orthodontist was telling his assistant all of his observations when he was looking in Chloe's mouth, "...erupting," "stage 2 (?) overbite," "crowding," etc...Chloe says "that doesn't sound good!!"  Poor sweet thing!!  I just patted her little leg and told her that was why we were there, and that we could fix it.  She talks all the time about how weird it is that I have straight teeth and never had braces, and I just always tell her that I think it's crazy that she has perfect eyes.  I tell her at her age I had glasses already!  She's so lucky to have good seein' eyes :]

I had to check her out of school for an 11:00 appointment, so we went to lunch after.  She thought it was pretty fun.  So did I.

This boy...
He's been a little difficult.  He's our spirited child.  I guess that just means everything he does is elevated.  Things are a bigger deal to him than anybody else.  This particular day, he desperately needed a nap!  So I told him he was taking one, and he got SO mad!  "I don't need a nap!!  I hate naps!!  Naps are stupid!!"  About 5 minutes later, here's how I found my boy...

And that was our February (for the most part).
