Anyone who knows me well, knows I hate ironing. It's by far my least favorite household chore. I'd argue that I'd rather clean toilets than iron ('cause cleaning toilets only takes about 10 minutes).
So I was not excited when Matt whispered in my ear this morning that he was about out of shirts. Don't get us wrong...Matt can iron a shirt. I just usually do it, cause it's the last thing he wants to make time for at 4:30 in the morning when he's getting up for work.
So here's my pile...
...and here's my helper...

Every time I iron she brings up her little ironing board and "helps." She irons her baby's clothes and some of Dadduh's shirts. It's cute, and I love that she does that.
We (the kids and I) also watched the news today and saw some families cry about not knowing where their loved ones were because of the earthquake in Haiti. At dinner tonight, we prayed for those affected, and we all got a little teary-especially me.
In other news...
I'm getting Lasik this week. Thursday actually, and I'm pretty nervous about it; so is Matt. We think a little about what if I lost my sight all together, and it scares us to death. I've got too many precious things to look at. I play out the worst case scenario in my head pretty often just so there aren't any surprises. My mom tells me to think positive. I try, but I can't help but think of all the rediculous things that could go wrong (power surges, power outages, earth quakes during the procedure, what if I have like a seizure and start shaking and the laser cuts my eye in half, miscalculation of my eye and therefore receiving the wrong surgery, etc) .
My pre-op appointment is tomorrow, and I'm even nervous about that! I hope all goes well. I could use a few extra thoughts/prayers this week :)

Good Luck with your surgery!! Everything will go great.
That was a lot to iron! I hate ironing too, so Brady just wears wrinkled shirts. I'm sure that will change once he has a real job.
I'm sure the surgery will go great! I will say a prayer for you!
Holy Ironing!! Hey, you think Chloe would come hang out with me and help me around the house, remember where I put things, what I was doing, etc?
I would say don't be nervous about the surgery but I totally would be too. But things will go great and remember that you won't have to wear your glasses anymore. Woo! We'll keep you in our prayers:)
i hate ironing too, so i do it as little as possible, and wear wrinkly shirts far too often.
good luck on your surgery. that scares me too. my eyes are horrible but i can just never get myself to do the surgery. we'll say a little prayer for you though. don't think about the negative, just think how nice it will be afterwards, to be able to SEE!
i'm like you. i got a little teary-eyed last night during family prayers (about haiti). i don't know why it makes me feel dumb to cry over something so far from home. but they're people just like us, so i think we have that capacity to care for others who are in pain and going through struggles. i wish i had millions of dollars and could donate, and fly over there to help in the rescue. i feel helpless.
Oh Amy - I can't help but laugh!!! I know it is a serious situation, but the scenarios you gave are things I would have never thought about! Seizures and earthquakes??? Now, that would be terrible luck!
Really though, I wish you the best and we will keep you in our prayers. Just think though, as long as there aren't any earthquakes and siezeres....they have had MANY successful Lasik surgeries now, so your odds are better than you think :) Good Luck! Want any help with anything? Dinner or something?
