::princess chloe::

The UPS man came today, and look what he brought...
...yep, it's the Disney Princess Wii game!!!

so we had to go right down to play it. It's pretty neat...she gets to pick out her own dress, and wave a magic wand.

does that look like a happy girl, or what??

On a side note...
Chloe is 1 week post op. She's doing pretty good. Today is by far her best day. She's had a rough week: hardly any appetite, sore throat all the time, swollen, lots of crying, lots of wishing she could go jump on the tramp and ride her bike, and lots of nasty medicine. But today she's finally starting to feel better, and we're hoping she feels even better tomorrow :)

::tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy::

After a visit to the pediatrician for her kindergarten check-up, we learned that Chloe isn't sleeping well because of these...
...her huge tonsils!

So she had to have them (and her adenoids) out.

She got them out yesterday (monday).

on the way down to the hospital (does she look nervous to you??)

we had to wait here for a bit.

tried to play

then back to the "pre" surgery area to put on a gown and open a couple of gifties from Grandma and Papa Kitty

we got some matching bracelets :)

gettin' the "party hat" on

getting ready to go-I was fighting back tears.
(I told her to give me a thumbs up, and this was what I got)

off she goes (now I could cry-and I did)

after about an hour (was that all it was?), she was all done

tried to give me a smile

She did pretty well. The dr. said she did great in surgery. She woke up from anesthesia really happy, but then really wanted to go home and cried a lot. She's had a sore throat and she's swollen, so she talks a little funny, but doing well for the most part.

We want to thank everyone for their love and support. Chloe has really enjoyed the get-well gifts, and especially the balloons :) We are so lucky to have such loving, supportive family and friends.

A special thanks to Grandma Snowman and Jennie for babysitting the two little boys and getting up so early! And a special thanks to Grandma and Papa Kitty for coming to the hospital to be with us during her surgery.
We love you all.

::camp fire::

On Saturday night, we decided to have a campfire in the campgrounds by Matt's parents' house. It's one of our favorite things to do in the summertime. For some reason, there's just somethin' fun about sittin' by the fire outside.
just gettin' there

Jared, Sarah, and Jennie came too

don't ya love Matt's smile??

Chloe was so excited

of course, Portie wore his boots ;)

there was a little hill right behind the site that the kids walked up and down and up and down. (Portie fell down the hill almost every time he came down it-minus a few scrapes, it was pretty funny. He kept saying "I awight, Mom")

Coopie mostly ate the whole time :)

...and so did we! We had about a million s'mores, and they were so good!

they gathered sticks for the "fiyeh"

Grandma and Papa Snowman came for some s'mores...

...and a little snuggle ;)

We got the fire about as big as we could, and then put it out. Thanks, everybody for coming with us. We want to do it again soon!! Hobo dinners??

::milestones::

#1
Coopie can sit unsupported. He'll usually tip over after a bit, but it still counts, right?? :)

#2
Chloe learned how to ride her bike sans training wheels!! (a VERY big deal) She's been wanting to take them off for a looong time, but I never wanted to cause I thought it'd be hard to teach her and I thought she'd fall, but we took them off, I showed her how and chased behind her for a bit, and she had it!

Lesson: never underestimate your kids :)
Look at her go!!

woohoo!! 2 wheels!!

Port's workin' on pedaling :)

Matt wanted to try too!!

...and Portie wanted to ride "wiss [his] dayad"

#3
Portie's self sufficient in the bathroom (tmi? sorry.) It's a big deal to him 'cause he likes to do everything by himself. It makes me a little nervous (for obvious reasons), but so far so good ;)
